CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – Aristoi Classical Academy is planning a spectacular night for the public and school alike in which its young and budding artists will showcase their works in a one-night art show. On May 4th at 6 – 8:30p.m, the classical charter school’s Griffin Center will open its doors to all for its annual free Art Show event. The Griffin Center is located at 5610 Morton Road Katy, TX 77493.

Almost 300 2-D student works will be on display as will clay sculptures and student photography. The work is a culmination of pieces developed and crafted throughout the students’ academic school year.

“I am constantly amazed by these students,” Ms. Sarah Cosgray, Upper School Art Teacher, said. “They are talented and aren’t afraid to explore new media, from painting, pastels, charcoal, and sculptures to photography and drawing. They work so diligently on their craft. I’m proud and excited to be able to exhibit and show the rest of the school, and the public, what they’ve created here.”

An addition this year to the annual show is the inclusion of four local artists who are displaying some of their works as well. The artists include Adriana Velasquez, Robbie Hanson, Jeanne A. Benas, and Guy Jackson. Each artist has graciously donated their own pieces for auction that evening, and some will be on-hand to field questions and answers about their work. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the school.

The evening is free and open to the public with treats and food for purchase.
