Proceeds Benefit the Foundation’s Teacher Grant Program

CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Katy ISD Education Foundation announces the return of its annual GROOVE spring fundraiser on Friday, March 29, 6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.at the Royal Sonesta Houston.  This year’s 80’s-themed event proudly features the Spazmatics, a high-energy, ultimate-nerdy, new-wave 80s band sure to have guests singing and dancing all night long.  Other event features include a return of last year’s popular Kendra Scott pull and casino games.

GROOVE benefits the foundation and its Inspiring Imagination teacher grant program.  The Katy ISD Education Foundation celebrated a spectacular milestone this school year with $1.3 million awarded in its first six years of Inspiring Imagination teacher grants. GROOVE and its proceeds played a key role in reaching that milestone and will continue to garner much-needed support as the foundation’s grant program expands. The foundation will award its seventh round of grants to Katy ISD teachers in May 2019.

GROOVE admission is $200 per person, covering all event costs plus a donation to the foundation which replaces the evening’s traditional program. The Spazmatics will take the stage immediately after all guests enjoy a rousing cocktail reception. Participation in the evening’s pulls and casino is optional. Seating will be limited, so early ticket purchase is encouraged.

Early event sponsors include Phillips 66; Thompson & Horton, LLP; Autoarch Architects, LLC; Balfour Yearbooks; Satterfield & Pontikes; Stantec; Matt Schomburg State Farm; Mueller, Pye and Associates CPA; Memorial Hermann Katy; Texas IBI Group; Eventsia Group; Jennifer Finger; M.d. Anderson Cancer Center; AXA Advisors Jeff Poole; Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers; Fred and Patti Shafer; LJA Engineering.  Additional sponsorship opportunities are available and include incentives commensurate with the sponsorship level.
