Wine

Of the states that place a tax on wine, Texas and California charge consumers the least according to the Tax Foundation's January 2019 data, but there are four states that have not tax at all. 

Mississippi, Utah, Pennsylvania and Wyoming are the states with no wine tax.  

Texas and California have an effective excise tax on a gallon of wine this is 20 cents, the Tax Foundation study found.

Most states tax based on volume, but other states impose other types of taxation. Minnesota places per-bottle fees that vary based on size.

New Hampshire and four other states – Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Utah and Wyoming – have in place government monopolies on the sale of beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages, according to the analysis.
