KATY (Covering Katy News) - The Katy Area Economic Development Council has two new managers. Angie Thomason will serve as manager of membership, business retention and special projects while Debbie Morris will handle administrative duties and provide project-related assistance.
Thomason brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Katy area to her new role. Prior to joining the Katy Area EDC, Thomason was employed by Guaranty Bank and Trust where she was a vice president of treasury management, marketing and business development.
“I am excited to join the Katy Area EDC and be part of the growth and success of the Katy area community,” Thomason said.
Thomason also previously worked for Westbound Bank as vice president of marketing and business development. She served as branch manager of the Northwest Houston location. She has been involved in the local community as an ambassador with the Katy Chamber of Commerce as well serving with the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce.
Morris relocated back to the Katy area after spending several years in Matagorda County. She most recently served as port director of Matagorda County Navigation District No. 1 where she was responsible for administration and management of MCND #1 personnel, subcontracts, finances, property, security, development and marketing. Prior to that role, she served as county investment officer and office manager for Matagorda County.
“A great number of exciting changes have taken place in the Katy area since I last resided here, and I can't wait to play a role in the continued development of the area,” said Morris.
