KATY, TX (Covering Katy News) – A sprawling estate home in the Katy community of Cane Island has been named winner of a Greater Houston Builders Association PRISM award in the category of Best Custom Home Design for homes priced from $1-1.5 million.

Designed in a French transitional style, the 6,000 square-foot residence by William David Homes is a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath showcase situated on a three-quarter acre homesite in The Estates at Cane Island, the community’s exclusive, gated collection of luxury custom homes on exclusive, half-acre plus properties.

The magnificent estate home features an open floor play with multiple courtyards, private casita, two gourmet kitchens, spacious family room with Chicago brick domed ceiling, speakeasy-style game room with 22-foot shuffleboard and air-conditioned, garage-attached street pantry dedicated for packages and deliveries when the owner is away.

The home of Dan Naef, president of Cane Island developer Rise Communities, and his wife Beth also was a finalist for PRISM awards in the categories of Best Custom Home Specialty Room and Best Custom Home Bath.

“Winning Best Custom Home Design encompasses the home in its entirety,” says David Sanders, president of William David Custom Homes. “It recognizes the home’s floorplan, interior and exterior design, finish quality and overall feel.”

Each year, the Greater Houston Builders Association recognizes builders, developers, remodelers and industry professionals at its Houston’s Best PRISM Awards gala. This year’s award recipients were chosen by a panel of premier industry professionals from around the country.

William David Homes is one of four luxury builders in The Estates at Cane Island where custom homesites start in the high $200s. Others include Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Mike Harrison Custom Homes and Westport.

To reach the Katy community of new homes and The Estates at Cane Island, take the Cane Island Parkway exit off Interstate 10 minutes west of the Grand Parkway. Head north on Cane Island Parkway and take the roadway directly into the community.
