Taylor PlayMakers’ Fresh Take on a Timeless Love Story

James E. Taylor High School Theatre Department presents Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.  The modern retelling of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice and its themes of death, love, and the fleeting nature of happiness. When a mysterious stranger lures Eurydice into Hades, Orpheus must face the underworld to save her, forcing Eurydice to choose between the love of her husband and the certainty of her father.

The cast features junior Josiah Castillo as Father, junior Jacob Lewis as Interesting Man, freshman Bob Beathard as Orpheus, and junior Caitlin Zimmerman as Eurydice.  When asked about his experience working on the production, Jacob Lewis said, “I love the technical things we’re doing with the show.  I think it’s going to take the audience’s breath away.”

Performances take place November 8 at 7:00 p.m. and November 9 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the James E. Taylor Black Box Theatre.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.taylorplaymakers.org.
