FORT BEND ISD (Covering Fort Bend News) – Construction crews are making steady progress at Malala Elementary to ensure that the school is ready to receive students and staff for its mid-year opening in early January 2020. Malala students and families will be pleased to know that the campus is more than 83 percent complete. The school is under construction in the Aliana community.

The exterior wall sidings, walkways, windows, doors and drop-off canopies have been installed. The school’s playground is near completion and will receive a perimeter fence prior to the opening of the school in January. The school’s interior is also coming along smoothly, with walls, concrete flooring, ceiling grids, lighting, and plumbing installed on the first and second floors. Classrooms have been fitted with casework and Markerboards, and the air conditioning unit is operational throughout the building.

“We are excited about the progress being made at the campus and look forward to receiving our MYE Leopard community in January,” said Principal Lisa Langston.
