Running Against Violence

FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Fort Bend News) – The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Fort Bend County Crime Victim’s Response Team, is holding a “Running Against Violence” Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2. Race check in begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. The check in, starting line and finish line are all at the Fort Bend County Justice Center at 1422 Eugene Heimann.

Registration for the 5K run/walk in $25 for early registration and $30 for late registration. There are separate men’s and women’s brackets. The kid’s 1K run/walk is open to children age 12 and under and is $15 for early registration and $20 for late registration.

All profits from the event will go to the CVRT for the purpose of awarding grants to non-profits that support victims of violent crime in and around Fort Bend County.

Vendors and Activities Include Kids and Cops, Child Advocates of Fort Bend and Fort Bend County Women’s Center. There will be food trucks, a pet adoption station, a live DJ and more.
