FULSHEAR (Covering Katy News) - Construction crews struck a gas line on FM 1093 near James Lane Tuesday night and traffic was diverted as a safety precaution during the eventing commute.

Westbound traffic approaching downtown was directed north on FM 359 (Main Street) to Rogers Road to Pool Hill Road as a detour.

Eastbound traffic was detoured to Pool Hill Road, then Rogers Road to bypass the restricted area.

The construction work likely made for a frustrating ride home for some commuters.

“Believe us, we felt your frustration as well, but we had to make sure everyone made it home safely,” said a Facebook post from the Fulshear Police Department. “It was a fluid situation that involved many moving pieces in which all involved worked very hard to resolve.”

According to the Fulshear P.D. the following agencies help with repairs and traffic control: The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, The Fulshear-Simonton Fire Department, FBC Fire Marshal, Fort Bend County Emergency Management Office, Weston Lakes Emergency Management, SER Construction, FBC Constable 3 and Rosenberg Police School Resource Officers.
