KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Cinco Ranch Homeowners Association revived it’s traditional 4th of July patriotic bike ride on Thursday and more than two dozen children took part in the parade.

Janie Dale organized the event that had not taken place in recent years. The fun took place in the Greenway Village section of Cinco Ranch.

There was also a contest to determine who did the best job decorating their bike, stroller or wagon. Serving as judges were Jennifer Royo of the No Label Brewery, Wendy Duncan – Republican candidate for Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner, and Dennis Spellman of Coverng Katy News.

Following the bike parade the fun continued in the Greeway Village Park. There were bounce houses, red white and blue popsicles, face painting, a balloon artist, a DJ and trackless train rides. Everything was free for Cinco Ranch residents.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office had its new custom high water rescue vehicle on hand and the Willowfork Fire Department had one of its pumper trucks there too. The Precinct 3 Constable’s office provided security.

Dale says she hopes this will continue as a yearly event.
