KATY/FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Fort Bend News) – Two people are dead and three others are recovering after a late night shooting in Katy/Fort Bend County. It happened on Everhart Manor Drivein Katy/Fort Bend County. The neighborhood is near South Fry Road and Gaston Road.
“At about 11:30 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call. People called and said they heard gunshots at a residence,” Nehls told Covering Katy News.
There was an argument about a relationship that sparked the shooting.
There were five victims shot inside the house. A medical helicopter was used to airlift the victims to the hospital.
On Thursday afternoon the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Julianna Carr. She was killed at the scene by John Wright who later died of a self inflicted gunshot wound at an area hospital. Carr and Wright were brother and sister.
“Two of those five are deceased and the other three are at local hospitals recovering from their wounds,” Nehls said in a predawn interview at the scene Thursday.
“Out of the five who have gunshot wounds, three of them are females and two are males,” Nehls said. The Sheriff’s Office did not identify those who were not killed.
A female was able to get out of the house safely. A juvenile survived by barricading herself into a bathroom.
The family that lived in the residence just moved into the house a few days ago. There are still moving boxes inside the home.
“While they were moving-in they had people over and some type of an argument ensued,” Nehls said.
