FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Fort Bend News) – Fort Bend County Commissioner Andy Meyers recently went on a site visit to see the progress at the new Harlem Road Park, just east of Pecan Grove.

If you haven’t driven down Harlem Road lately, you’ll be amazed at the progress,” said Meyers. “The new park facility housing the future concession stand / restrooms / storage was completed in May. Well and septic systems are operational. Today at a site visit, we watched our crews carefully maneuvering and installing the light poles for the new athletic fields (two baseball and two multi-purpose). Final grading and surfacing will soon follow.”

During Hurricane Harvey, the site was used to help with staging a debris removal during the recovery process.

“Soon it will re-open as an important addition to our community’s quality of life for years to come,” said Meyers. “Stay tuned for more announcements and details on a grand opening / ribbon cutting as the work reaches its final stages.”
