CINCO RANCH (Covering Katy News) – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office will be seeking a subpeona to test the blood of a driver that caused a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 99, the Lanier Parkway in Cinco Ranch. The accident caused major delays during the Thursday evening commute.
“The driver was southbound on 99, and crossed over to the northbound lanes near Cinco Ranch Boulevard,” said Major Chad Norvell, Chief Deputy with the Fort Bend County Sheriffs’ Office. “He ended up striking 4 vehicles.”
One driver was transported to a local hospital with possible broken ribs. The driver who caused the crash was also transported to the hospital, condition unknown.
“The driver is believed to be intoxicated and we will be seeking a grand jury subpoena for the bloodwork done at the hospital,” Norvell said. “If he is found to be intoxicated then DWI and Intoxicated Assault charges will be filed.”
The charges will depend on the level of injuries to the innocent driver according to Norvell.
