ROSENBERG (Covering Fort Bend News) – The man who shot his ex-girlfriend and killed two of her family members has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The shooter has been identified as 42-yearold Juan DeLeon Jr.
Around 2:39 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, DeLeon shot at the car his ex-girlfriend was riding in near Highway 36 and Comanche Boulevard along with her friend and her friend’s teen daughter. The ex-girlfriend was shot but the victims were able to drive away seek safety with a FBCSO deputy working with Fort Bend County Road and Bridge.
It is believed at this time that the shooter drove away and went to the home of his ex-girlfriend and shot and killed her family members. The ex-girlfriend’s mother, Gloria Rivera, 64, was shot and killed at her home in the 5000 block of Navajo Court along with her adult son, Fabian Rivera, 40.
The shooter then returned to the location of his ex-girlfriend and shot himself. He later succumbed to his injury and died at the hospital.
