ROSENBERG (Covering Fort Bend News) - Three are in custody after Rosenberg Police Officers responded to a 911 call early Thursday morning at the Wendy’s located at 27943 Southwest Freeway.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 25, the Rosenberg Police Dispatch Center received a report of a robbery that just occurred. Rosenberg Officers were able to quickly provide local area law enforcement with a description of the suspects and their vehicle, which was located by Sugar Land Police Officers traveling North on U.S. 59. A traffic stop led to the apprehension of suspects, recovery of weapons and masks used in the robbery and stolen property. The investigation is still ongoing.

The suspects were identified as Johnathan Gray, Joshua Whitfield, and Alton Campbell of Houston. All three were taken into custody and taken back to the City of Rosenberg. Charges will include Aggravated Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

“Sugar Land Police Officers did an outstanding job catching these guys before they made it back into Harris County,” said Rosenberg Police Assistant Chief Jarret Nethery. “This incident is a great example of what can happen when law enforcement agencies in our county work together. We couldn’t be more proud of the work our officers and other law enforcement professionals are doing to keep our city safe.”
