HOUSTON (Covering Katy News) – The Texas Department of Transportation will be restriping a section of I-45, the Gulf Freeway, southbound between FM 518 and SH 96 this weekend as part of the I-45 widening project in the League City area.
There will be a total closure of the Gulf Freeway southbound main lanes beginning Friday, September 28 at 9 p.m. until Monday, October 1 at 5 a.m.
Motorists traveling southbound on I-45 Gulf Freeway will be detoured to the FM 518 exit to the I-45 southbound frontage road and continue through the signalized intersection to re-enter the I-45 southbound main lanes after SH 96.
Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route. Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control. For more information on scheduled lane closures in the Houston District contact Danny Perez at (713) 802-5077.
