CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) - Aristoi Classical Academy, located in the City of Katy, is hosting its thirteenth Veterans Day Celebration program at the Griffin Center, 5610 Morton Road, Katy, Texas 77493. The program includes: recognizing veterans, the presentation of colors, and musical accompaniments such as My Country, ‘Tis of Thee and patriotic sing-alongs.

The event, on Monday, November 11th at 6:30 p.m., continues Aristoi’s long tradition of honoring our veterans and welcomes everyone to take part in the celebration.

“Classical education upholds the value of responsible contribution toward family, community, and government," said Vikki Camper, Aristoi’s K-4 music teacher. "Students are able to connect the civic life and political experiences of historical societies to present-day cultures. Maintaining a Veterans Day Celebration program is one way in which we do that.”

“We aim to graduate young men and women who seek the truth in all things. We desire them to be honorable citizens who seek to improve their communities and the world rather than passively traveling along the road most followed,” said Brenda Davidson, superintendent and headmaster, at Aristoi Classical Academy. “We desire to cultivate in our students the virtues of courage, respect, and wisdom. Recognizing the importance and value of our veterans, the role they play in the community, and the freedoms we enjoy, is paramount to helping them realize how to be responsible citizens of virtuous character.”

Guests include Mayor Bill Hastings and Wrendon Perry Hunt, former White House Fellow at the U.S. Federal Department of Labor.

This event is open to the public. Reservations are not required but highly encouraged.
