HOUSTON (Covering Katy News) - The man accused of murdering Harris County Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal on Friday will remain at the Harris County Jail.  Robert Solis, 47, appeared before a judge Monday morning at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center in Houston. The judge denied bond.

Deputy Dhaliwal was shot in the head during a routine traffic stop in the Jersey Village area.

Solis had an outstanding arrest warrant at the time of the traffic stop. The motive for the killing appears to be that Solis did not want Dhaliwal to run his license and discover the outstanding arrest warrant. An arrest would have begun the process of sending Solis back to prison. He had been out on parole.

Solis was arrested a short time later in a nearby business.
