NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – A man driving westbound on FM 529 rolled his car several times at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning. He was ejected and later died at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston’s Texas Medical Center. The victim has been died at Marco Gastelum. His age was not provided.
“He failed to drive in a single lane, went off the roadway and into the grass, across several driveways, overturned and came to rest on Satsuma Drive,” said Sgt. Dashana Cheek-McNeal of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his Ford Escape.
“He received very critical injuries and was transported to (Memorial) Hermann Hospital via Life Flight,” Cheek-McNeal said.
The victim was the only person in his car. No other vehicle was involved in the crash and no one else was hurt on the ground.
“There were some beer bottles that were found in the vehicle and outside of the vehicle, so we are investigating whether alcohol is a factor,” Cheek-McNeal said.
The investigation is ongoing.
