Larry Gore Hopes to Return to Katy City Council

CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – Larry Gore hopes to serve on the Katy City Council again. Gore previously served on the city council representing Ward B but had to step down due to term limits. This time Gore will run for an at-large seat where he would represent the entire city. The election will be held on May 7th, 2018.

“I am going to put my hat in the ring for the at-large seat,” Gore told Covering Katy. “Our city really needs people with experience and someone who has the perspective of a 40 plus year resident,” Gore added.

Gore points to his experience on the board of the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District 12 as the right type of experience needed following the flooding of Hurricane Harvey. Gore says he has been on the LID as a board member and president for twenty years.

“I have experience in one of the major issues we’ll be talking about, flooding,” Gore said. “I feel that I could lend that expertise to help the Mayor and city council moving forward.”

Gore is also a current member of the City of Katy’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

Gore and his wife are small business owners. He has been a hunting and fishing outfitter in Katy since 1977. He and his wife also operate the Katy ABA Center of Texas which provides services for children with learning challenges.

Gore says he wants to be a “voice for the people. That’s what I tried to do as a member in the past and will endeavor to do again if the voters decide to return me to the council.”
