KATY/Fort Bend (Covering Katy News) - A former student at Tompkins High is accused of making a social media threat against the school.

The school district was alerted by the FBI and sent out a message informing parents on Monday.  

The suspect's name has not been released. It is unclear if he is a minor.

The school's message is below. 

Dear Tompkins High School (OTHS) Parents/Guardians, Staff and Community Members,

This communication is to inform you that the FBI received a tip regarding a social media threat against Tompkins High School.  The FBI immediately alerted Katy ISD police and local authorities.   Law enforcement has confirmed the social media post was made by a former student who is no longer enrolled in Katy ISD.  Authorities have confirmed there is no imminent threat toward students or staff safety at Tompkins High School.
