Wendy Duncan, left, submitted paperwork with the county Republican party to run for Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner. There to accept the paperwork was Republican Party county chair Linda Howell.

KATY (Covering Katy News) - Republican Wendy Duncan has officially filed to challenge incumbent Andy Meyers in the GOP primary for Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner.

"It’s official! On Tuesday, November 19th, I filed to be on the Republican ballot running for Fort Bend County Commissioner Precinct 3 in the March 2020 Primary," Duncan said in a social media post placed on Thursday morning.

"We have some of the most talented engineers and consultants in the world right here in our own backyard. Together, we can create dynamic solutions for the issues we face - traffic, flood control and wasteful spending," Duncan wrote.

Duncan currently serves on the board of directors for the Willow Fork Drainage District.
