KATY/FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Katy News) - An attached garage was destroyed and two cars were badly damaged during an early morning fire in the Hickory Creek subdivision of Katy/Fort Bend County.

The neighborhood is off the Westpark Tollway between Gaston Road and Highway 99.  It happened at about 3:30 a.m. on Cansfied Way at Pembrough Lane, on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.

The family escaped from their home without injuries.

When firefighters arrived the garage was engulfed in flames. They successfully kept the flames from spreading to the house. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal.

Firefighters from the Community Volunteer Fire Department, Fulshear F.D., and Richmond F.D. responded to the call.
