GUY, Texas (Covering Katy News) - A motorcyclist had to be airlifted following a two vehicle crash in the unincorporated community of Guy, Fort Bend County on Sunday morning. The crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Texas Highway 36 and FM 1994, not far from Needville High School.
"The motorcycle rider’s helmet flew off in the crash, said Major Chad Norvell of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. "He was unconscious on scene, but woke up just before transport."
The man who was operating the motorcycle sustained head injuries and a broken hip according to Norvell.
The biker was traveling northbound on SH 36 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a woman who turned into his path of travel according to investigators.
The biker is recovering at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
The driver will be cited for failing to yield the right of way.
