The shooting happened on Thursday Nov. 21, 2019. Police have also confirmed that the victims of the drug deal gone bad are from Richmond.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 7000 block of Hearthside Drive at 10:14 p.m. While approaching the location, an officer saw several gunshots fired at a grey Nissan Altima and two men in hoodies running from the vehicle.

"The driver of the Nissan Altima attempted to drive away and was stopped nearby in the 1400 block of Briarbend Drive, said a statement from the police department. A large of amount of marijuana was located inside their vehicle."

The men are 18 and 19-year-old Richmond residents who have no known connections to the Greatwood subdivision. Originally they were believed to have been from Rosenberg but now police confirm they are from Richmond.

After the shooting a perimeter was set up in Greatwood, and the area was searched for several hours, but the shooters were not located.
