Mayde Creek High School Students Speak about the loss of their friends

KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – Students from Mayde Creek High school gathered near the home of 14-year-old Maria Perez and her 15-year-old sister Isabela on Sunday afternoon.  They were stunned that the girls had been killed just hours earlier.

“It’s just sick. They had a whole life ahead of them. That’s not fair. That’s not right,” said friend Adriana Estrada

“They were really thoughtful, and they would always say thank you for everything,” said friend Kassia Sorola.

It was hard to know what to do so Sorola decided to begin a memorial shaped like a cross with a photo from happier times. All the friends signed the memorial.

“They were really sweet, and I would do anything for them so making this in memory of them was something I thought would be nice,” Sorola said.

In a time when it was hard to smile, the Katy teens remembered that their friends could always make them smile.

“Something I will always remember is that they were always smiling and happy and they would always hug me,” Sorolla remembered.

“They were really happy people. There are no words to explain how amazing they were,” Estrada said.
