KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) –  A 68-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a car on Kingsland Boulevard at about 7:10 a.m. Thursday.

Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Precinct 5 Constables Office were there along with members of the Emergency Services District 48 Fire Department.

“The 68-year-old woman was walking her dog” according to Robert Henslee of Precinct 5.

The accident happened on Kingsland Boulevard near Chisel Point, not far from the back entrance of Second Baptist Church.

“A white SUV was turning onto Kingsland, Henslee said. “The driver was looking one way for oncoming traffic and did not see the pedestrian who was struck by the SUV.”

The woman was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight.  She did have an injury to her leg. The dog was seriously injured too.
