Katy High School

CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) - Rumors of threatening statements allegedly made by Katy High School students have been investigated and principal Rick Hull says his school is safe.

"KHS administrators and Katy ISD Police Department investigated the rumors and determined that there was not a substantiated threat to our school or community," said an emailed letter to Parents, Guardians and staff. "At no time were students or staff in danger."

Below is a copy of Hull's letter.

Dear Katy High School (KHS) Parents/Guardians and Staff,

The purpose of this message is to notify you that Katy High School administrators were notified today of rumors of threatening statements by KHS students. KHS administrators and Katy ISD Police Department investigated the rumors and determined that there was not a substantiated threat to our school or community. At no time were students or staff in danger.

I would like to reassure parents that the safety of our students at KHS and throughout Katy ISD is a top priority.

Students, staff and community play an important role in keeping our school safe by reporting potential threats or safety issues. Finally, as a reminder, in addition to reporting information to school or law enforcement officials, students and parents can also utilize the Katy ISD mobile app, SpeakUP, to anonymously report tips.

Dr. Rick Hull, Principal
