NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) - As growth moves north of I-10 in the Katy area one of the largest subdivisions has announced that its become the top selling masterplanned community in the Houston market. The Bridgeland development is located between Fry Road to the east and the Grand Parkway to the west in the Cypress area.
Bridgeland, which is being developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation, has the highest number of new home starts according to Metrostudy, a leading provider of market information for the housing and residential construction industry. With 351 home sales through mid-2019, a 34% increase over the same period in 2018, Bridgeland is the eleventh best-selling community in the country, moving up seven spots in just six months.
"Bridgeland differentiates itself to buyers by providing not only amenity-rich neighborhoods, but also an active and healthy lifestyle for residents of all ages," said a statement released by the developer. "The community offers a unique option in the Greater Houston area with 3,000 acres of open space that includes 400 acres of parks, 900 acres of lakes and 250 miles of trails integrated throughout the community."
Construction began in 2006. Over the last decade, the 11,400-acre community has grown quickly with 3,700 homes and 11,800 residents. When fully built-out 65,000 residents are expected to live in the Bridgeland community.
